APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATICALLY INTERRUPTING POWER IN A MOBILE TERMINAL, ESPECIALLY CONCERNED WITH PREVENTING THE INTERNAL CIRCUIT COMPONENTS OR PROGRAMS OF A MOBILE TERMINAL FROM GETTING DAMAGED WHEN THE USER LETS HIS MOBILE TERMINAL FALL INTO WATER OR DROPS IT ON THE GROUND THROUGH HIS CARELESSNESS
PURPOSE: An apparatus for automatically interrupting power in a mobile terminal is provided to prevent internal circuit components from getting damaged by short-circuiting copperplates first of all before water soaks through a circuit substrate when a mobile terminal falls into water, detecting it through a detection sensor, and supplying the detection signal to the circuit substrate so that power can be automatically interrupted. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for automatically interrupting power in a mobile terminal consists of a speaker part(2), the first housing(1), a keypad(11), the second housing(10), two copperplates(21), and two power interruption sensors(22). The first housing(1) is composed of upper and lower cases(4,5) to enclose and protect an LCD part(3). The keypad(11) comprises a plurality of buttons for data input and a power button. The second housing(10) is composed of upper and lower cases(13,14) to enclose and protect the speaker part(12) and a main circuit substrate. The copperplates(21) are short-circuited when the mobile terminal falls into water. The power interruption sensors(22), installed at the two copperplates(21) respectively, detect the current flowing through the copperplates, due to the conductive component of water, and supply a power interruption signal to the main circuit substrate.
