PURPOSE: A wireless Internet service method using an automatic access code and a mobile terminal using the same are provided to prevent the occurrence of unnecessary charging in wireless Internet access by inserting validity information into an automatic access code. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal(10) comprises an image recognition part(110), a decoder(120), a control part(130), a memory(140), a validity confirmation part(150), an interface module(160), and a display/speaker(170). The image recognition part(110) scans the image of an automatic access code and temporarily stores it in the memory(140). The decoder(120) confirms the format and size of the scanned image according to the control of the control part(130), and transmits the validity information of an image header part to the validity confirmation part(150). The validity confirmation part(150) compares the validity information of the image header part with the present hour and judges whether the access term of the automatic access code expired. In case that the validity of the automatic access code remains, the interface module(160) transmits code information, decoded in the decoder(120), to a code switching platform, receives access information from the code switching platform, and attempts access to an associated Internet site.
