PROCESSING GINSENG OR RED GINSENG AS RAW MATERIAL FOR GINSENG-INFUSED TEA BY HEATING MOISTURIZED GINSENG OR RED GINSENG POWDER WHILE AGITATING CAPABLE OF PRODUCING PRODUCT WHICH DISSOLVES QUITE READILY IN WATER AND CONTAINS NO SUGARS
PURPOSE: A method of processing ginseng or red ginseng as a raw material for ginseng-infused tea by heating moisturized ginseng or red ginseng powder with 300 to 150meshes while agitating is provided. The product dissolves quite readily in water and contains no sugars. CONSTITUTION: Ginseng containing red ginseng is introduced into an inlet of a processing apparatus, dried to a moisture content of 8% or less, ground to 300 to 150meshes and then added with water to a moisture content of 10 to 15%. The moisturized ginseng is heated at 140 to 180deg.C at 60 to 125kgf/cm¬2 while agitating with a screw(2), discharged through a discharge hole(7) with a diameter of 2.5mm and then cut with a cutter(9) to about 0.5 to 2mm. The final product has a mesh of 40. During the discharging process, the ginseng is puffed by the pressure.
