PURPOSE: To provide an alloy for metal resistance heater having improved high temperature quality such as high temperature oxidation resistance by adding a trace of Be to a Fe-Cr-Al base alloy billet, and a method for producing an ingot for Fe-Cr-Al base metal resistance heater with improved high temperature oxidation resistance by controlling impurities, trace of alloy elements and cleanliness of the alloy billet. CONSTITUTION: The alloy for Fe-base resistance heater having improved high temperature oxidation resistance comprises 14.0 to 24.0 wt.% of Cr, 4.0 to 6.0 wt.% of Al, 0.01 to 0.1 wt.% of Be and the balance of Fe. The method for manufacturing an alloy for Fe-base resistance heater having improved high temperature oxidation resistance is characterized in that an alloy comprising 14.0 to 24.0 wt.% of Cr, 4.0 to 6.0 wt.% of Al, 0.01 to 0.1 wt.% of Be and the balance of Fe is manufactured in an electro-slag remelting process in which an electrode descending speed is maintained to from 2 to 10 mm/min in such a manner that secondary electric current is controlled to a range of 28 to 35 A/cm¬2 by adding Be in such a manner that an Al-Be alloy is added to molten metal of the consumed electrode during manufacturing of a consumed electrode and by using slag of CaF2-Al2O3-CaO component system.
