DEVICE FOR TREATING FOOD WASTE TO REMOVE MALODOR, LOWER SALT CONCENTRATION AND PRODUCE HIGH QUALITY FERTILIZER AND METHOD FOR TREATING FOOD WASTE USING THE SAME
PURPOSE: To provide a device for treating food waste, which is capable of removing odor from food waste, lowering salt concentration of food waste and mass-producing high quality fertilizer by fermenting, heating and agitating the mixture after mixing food waste with various additives including coconut pet, maltose and yeast, and a method for treating food waste using the device. CONSTITUTION: The device (100) comprises a main body (10) comprising a hopper (11) installed on an upper part of the main body to inject food waste into the main body so that food waste is treated, and a treatment tank (12) installed inside the main body to treat food waste injected through the hopper; an aging can (20) installed on an inner lower part of the main body to age food waste; a heater (30) for heating food waste filled in the aging can; a blower (60) connected with the heater to blow heat of the heater to the aging can during operation of the heater; agitation blades (40) for rotating and agitating food waste aged and heated by the aging can and the heater by driving force of a motor (50); and a vent installed on an outer surface of the main body to exhaust gas generated from food waste during aging and heating of food waste to the outside; and a catalyst (80) embedded in the vent so that gas exhausted through the vent is reduced to a non-harmful gas by the catalyst.
