This invention provides medicaments and methods for managing cancer usingdonor cells that are alloactivated in culture. Alloactivatedcells are implanted into the bed of a solid tumor and initiate a response bythe host against the tumor. Subsequently, alloactivated cells areimplanted into the bed of a solid tumor a second time. The two implants worksynergistically to confer remarkable benefit to the treatedsubject, both in terms of management of the cancer and the development of ananti-cancer immune response. The beneficial effects mayinclude regression of the tumor and extended survival. Removal of any residualtumor after the second implant facilitates ongoing resistanceto tumor regrowth or metastasis.
