The method for predicting the risk of the obstruction of pelvic-and-ureteral segment in the children suffering of hydronephrosis comprises the transverse ultrasonic scanning of the kidney followed by calculations of ratio of the specified areas, namely the ratio of parenchyma to the collecting system of the kidney. The ratio equal or superior to 1.8 predicts the low risk of the obstruction of pelvic-and-ureteral segment. The ratio equal or inferior to 1.4 predicts the high risk of the obstruction. When the ratio stated above is within 1.41-1.79 range the ratio is then calculated 15 and 60 minutes after intravenous administration of Lasix.
