The method for verifying the elimination of reentry tachycardia of AV node in the course of its treatment by radiofrequency catheter destruction consists in stimulating tachycardia by radiofrequency current followed by its termination as a result of electric stimulation. First, by X-ray reference points the area near the ostium of the coronary sinus with specific electrogram (the area of "the slowpathway") is detected. The radiofrequency current is then applied for 40 seconds at the maximal temperature of 60?C. The criterion of the elimination of reentry tachycardia consists in recording the alterations in atrioventricular conductivity upon the electric stimulation, namely the maximal A-His interval is changed with the extension of the effective refractory period of anterograde AV conductivity by at least 30 ms. When the re-stimulation of tachycardia upon such shifts of the conductivity parameters failed, the elimination of reentry tachycardia is regarded as verified.
