Mechanism for conditioning combustion air for compensating the loss of power by altitude and stabilizing power of stationary gas and combined cycles turbines, as well as diverse configurations thereof for cogeneration; the said turbines being installed in places with an altitude higher than 1000 meters above sea level where low atmospheric pressure reduces the air and power density, or useful performance, which are intended to be carried out by said equipments by virtue of the mass flow decrease of the combustion air. The invention is characterized in that it comprises a precompressor and one or several cooling devices useful for conditioning the combustion air, which will enter the compressor of the gas turbine, with the needed temperature and pressure for compensating the loss of power by altitude; said process respecting the required limits to accomplish the basic guarantees for operating the device. The compensation by altitude is achieved both by increasing the mass flow of the c ombustion air upon precompressing and cooling the same, and by increasing the turbine power upon carrying out a discharge at a reduced pressure, thereby making use of the altitude. The power stabilization is achieved by controlling the conditions of the air that enters the compressor. The best power demand, altitude of the places where the turbine is located and capability of the individual equipments for generating power the better benefits the invention offers. The mechanism has a great practical value since the cost for reducing losses of power by altitude is minimal in comparison with the value of the recovered capacity.
