he invention relates to an evaluation arrangement designed to classify landscapes into various categories according to the quality of the pictured scenery. The contribution of this arrangement is important for facilitating the environmental design and the investigation on the environmental effects of human interventions to landscapes. Said evaluation arrangement utilizes digital or analog photographs of the landscape under study and makes use of a series of indices fed to an ensemble of artificial neuronic networks able to classify at their output same landscape according to the quality thereof. This system, which is susceptible to evaluate in a direct and objective manner the landscape, is either incorporated to a digital camera making it be a handy low-cost system or utilized for the digital treatment of analog photographs in order to valorise past information regarding the landscape under study.
