One or more mono- or diglycerides having the formula: (Formula I); wherein R1, R2 and R3 are selected from the group consisting of C6-6 fatty acids, PEG polymers and hydrogen, provided that at least one R1, R2 and R3 is a C6-6 fatty acid residue. And at least one of R 1, R 2 and R 3 is a PEG polymer residue for use as an absorption enhancing agent.
