PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method for manufacturing an element body of an aluminum alloy substrate for PS plate which improves dissolution efficiency and its substrate while uniformity of a roughened surface by electrolytic etching is kept. ;SOLUTION: The element body of the aluminum alloy substrate for PS form plate comprises an Al -Fe based intermetallic compound 1 satisfying the conditions that its equivalent circle diameter d is 0.005≤d≤2 μm, and the compound is formed in projections having a height h of 0.001≤h≤ 3 μm, to matrix surface onto the matrix surface while conditions 1×103≤N≤5μ107 pieces/mm3 in N surface density on the matrix surface are satisfied. Further, the Al-Fe based intermetallic compound 1 is either one kind or two or more kinds of Al3Fe, Al6Fe, Al-Fe-X based (X is either one kind or two or more kinds of Ni, Si, Cu, Be, Ce, Co, Mn, Nd, La) intermetallic compounds.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
