PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonvolatile sequential circuit capable of holding data even when power is interrupted. SOLUTION: For this sequential circuit, to the output terminal of the transistor GT1 of a latch circuit LT1, a ferroelectric capacitor C1 is connected. Even when the power of a device is interrupted, the ferroelectric capacitor C1 holds a polarization state corresponding to input data D. When the power is supplied again, the potential of a PA point is decided corresponding to the polarization state held by the ferroelectric capacitor C1. Corresponding to the potential of the PA point, the potential of a PB point is decided. Corresponding to the potential of the PB point, the value of output Q is decided. Thus, by supplying the power again, a flip-flop circuit 42 is restored to the state before power interruption.
