PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic characteristic measuring technique capable of easily measuring acoustic characteristics in an instantaneous or very short time width for all band or a desired frequency band, especially, a low frequency band.;SOLUTION: A measurement sound is outputted into an acoustic space to measure the acoustic characteristics in the acoustic space. This measurement sound is outputted by dividing previously prepared measurement sound data of a predetermined time into a plurality of block periods to create a plurality of block sound data, and performing plural times of reproducing processing for reproducing the plurality of block sound data in an order constituting the measurement sound data, while shifting the block sound data to be firstly reproduced one by one every time. Then, in performing the reproducing processing plural times, the detection sound data corresponding to the block sound data reproduced in the same order of reproduction for each reproduction are operated and the acoustic characteristics are decided.
