PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to make an inquiry without being conscious of the distribution of data. PSOLUTION: A database integration reference device 20 stores the structure of an XML file to be used for the output of an inquiry result, the corresponding relationship of each element in the XML file and each element of each database and meta data for integration where the corresponding relationship of elements between databases is specified.
