PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep chip discharge ability well by not segmenting chips produced by a cutting edge, in the width direction but positively curling the chips to segment them fine in the lengthwise direction.;SOLUTION: A thinning part 26 in line with the inner peripheral end side of the cutting edge 25 is formed on the tip side of a rake face 24A. An intersecting part 28 between the rear end side portion of the thinning part 26 and the rake face 24A is machined into convex curved surface shape so that the rear end side portion of the thinning part 26 is smoothly connected to the rake face 24A. The radius of curvature of a convex curve formed by the cross section of the intersecting part 28 machined in the convex curved surface shape is set into a range of 0.5 mm to 30.0 mm.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
