PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine the relation between the rate of printing elements and the opening of an ink key and to accurately set an ink supply.;SOLUTION: Printing is conducted for each key zone by using a press plate for measurement different in the rate of printing elements from others and a real mixture color halftone density of each key zone is measured by an IRGB densitometer. Besides, a target mixture color halftone density is set on the basis of platemaking data. Each of these mixture color halftone densities is converted into a halftone dot area rate and further into a monochrome halftone density. Then, a solid density deviation corresponding to the deviation of a target monochrome halftone density from a real monochrome halftone density is determined and the opening of the ink key is regulated according to the solid density deviation. When the solid density deviation comes to be within a prescribed value, the relation between the rate of printing elements and the opening of the ink key is determined from the rate of printing elements and the opening of the ink key of each key zone and registered in a printing machine.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
