PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively manufacture a thermal spray metallic coating improved in the measurement of wastage and the corrosion resistance, such as pitting potential, as the "crevice corrosion" in the boundary parts between the deposited and thermally sprayed particles in a thermal spraying method is suppressed.;SOLUTION: The metallic powder of austenitic stainless steel composed of 18 to 26wt% chromium (Cr), 22 to 30wt% nickel (Ni), 2 to 8wt% molybdenum (Mo) and the balance iron (Fe) is thermally sprayed by using a gas shrouded high-velocity flame (GS-HVOF). The metallic coating is thereby formed on a substrate surface to afford the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of the substrate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
