PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quantum voting method with which safety can theoretically be guaranteed, anonymity is acquired and forgery of a ballot can be prevented without depending on assumptions related to computational volume.;SOLUTION: A ballot distribution device selects secret information K and holds it in secret. A ballot |ϕ with p-pieces (p≥2) of quantum states is prepared while varying a random sequence (r) by using K, and it is disclosed on a public bulletin board. A voting device selects a ballot |ϕ in one quantum state, and subject it to a unitary transformation to obtain anonymity and to a unitary transformation to fill in candidate names are to prepare a ballot |ϕ' in a quantum state which is transmitted to a ballot counting device. The ballot counting device observes the ballot |ϕ' in quantum state with bases corresponding to K and verifies whether it has a candidate's name on it or not based on the observation result. When an entry other than a candidate's name appears, it is refused, and accepts it when it carries a candidate's name. The ballot distribution device discloses the held secret information K after voting is completed. The voting device verifies the ballots |ϕ for the remaining p-1 quantum states on the public bulletin board based on the secret information K.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
