PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food composition effective for suppressing DNA oxidation damage which is one of oxidation stress causing injury on the living body and is caused by smoking or passive smoking.;SOLUTION: The food composition aims at suppressing DNA oxidation damage caused by smoking and comprises proanthocyanidin-containing vegetable extraction such as pine bark extract, grape seed extract or peanut seed coat extract, and reduces the amount of 8-OHdG excreted in urine through detecting DNA oxidation damage caused by smoking while using 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) in the urine as the oxidation damage.
