PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a profile sketch preparation apparatus capable of simply preparing frames continuing in horizontal and vertical directions, a profile sketch preparation program and a method for controlling the profile sketch preparation apparatus.;SOLUTION: The profile sketch preparation apparatus 1 prepares the continuous frames and step frames of profile sketches for fittings. When the wheel 9 of a mouse 4 is depressed, a mode detection part 16 detects that the apparatus 1 is set to a continued frame generation mode or a step frame generation mode. When the wheel 9 is rotated, an increase/decrease instruction information detection part 18 detects increase/decrease instruction information for instructing the increase/decrease of numerical information such as the number of frames. When the wheel 9 is rotated in the continuous frame generation mode, a frame generation part 15 receives the increase/decrease instruction information from the increase/decrease instruction information detection part 18 and increases/decreases basic frames in the horizontal direction.
