PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method for a weak acidic ion capable of increasing a UV detector response, and a device therefor. PSOLUTION: In this separation-measuring method for the weak-acidic ions, water is used as an eluate in an ion exclusion type chromatography for measuring selectively and highly sensitively the weak acidic ions in an aqueous examined sample such as environmental water, strong acidic ions are separated from the weak acidic ions (hydrogencarbonate ions, fluoride ions, aliphatic carboxylate ions, or the like) by an ion exclusion action of a weak acidic cation exchange resin column, the sample is converted thereafter into a compound (for example, potassium nitrate, potassium iodide) having a high absorbance coefficient in a wide detection wavelength area by the first and second UV absorbance increasing columns to be UV-detected, and the UV absorption detector response is thereby increased to carry out the highly sensitive detection. This separation-measuring method for the weak-acidic ions of the present invention is a device using the method. The hydrogencarbonate ions, aliphatic carboxylate ions or the like contained in the environmental water is separation-determined quantitatively, and the pollution-free (or low pollution), highly sensitive and precise measurement is provided by this manner.
