PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify comparisons of image parameters and determination work by minimizing items to be compared by making use of a specific habit of a small experimental animal when the behavior of the small experimental animal is analyzed.;SOLUTION: An image signal obtained by picking up a small animal in a feeding cage with a video camera 17 with a prescribed number of frames is converted to a binarized signal of white/black at a binarization circuit 32, and the noise of the binarized signal is removed by corrosion processing at an corrosion circuit 34 and by extension processing at an extension circuit 35, and then the number of clusters of black images in a white/black image by the noise-removed signal is counted at a cluster number counting part 36. The number of the clusters of black images counted at the cluster number counting part 36 is averaged for each prescribed time at an averaging circuit 37, and a time-variation graph is generated at a graphing circuit 38. The whole number of pixels varying for every two-frame in which the white/black images continues is counted at a variation pixel number counting part 39, and the whole number of the varying pixels counted at the variation pixel number counting part is averaged for every prescribed time at an averaging circuit 40, and a time-variation graph is generated at the graphing circuit 38.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
