PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve the wear resistance of a tread and a flange face of a wheel with pearlitic structure for rail vehicles such as locomotives, passenger vehicles and freight cars and to remarkably prevent the occurrence of thermal cracks in the wheel.;SOLUTION: The high carbo rail vehicle wheel having excellent wear resistance and thermal crack resistance is the integrated type composed of steel having chemical components comprising, by mass, 0.85 to 1.20% C, 0.10 to 2.00% Si and 0.05 to 2.00% Mn, and, if required, further comprising one or two metals selected from Cr and Mo, or one or two metals selected from V and Nb, or B, or one or two metals selected from Co and Cu, or Ni, or one or more metals selected from Ti, Mg and Ca, or Al, or Zr, or N in prescribed amounts, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities.
