Artery behavioral law determining process for obtaining arterial rigidity, involves determining characteristic constant of behavioral law of constraints and deformations, by mathematical adjustment method e.g. least square method
The process involves establishing a relation between constraints and deformations of an arterial wall based on a behavioral law of constraints and deformations. A system of equation is established based on blood pressure measurements and measurement of the wall thickness/artery diameter. Characteristic constants of the law are obtained by a mathematical adjustment method e.g. least square method, based on the measurements. The behavioral law of constraints and deformations are defined as a function of the two blood pressure measurements of the artery. The thickness or diameter measurements of artery is obtained by carrying out a set of non-invasive measurement for an internal diameter of the artery and thickness of arterial wall, or internal and external diameters of arterial wall, for the two blood pressures. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining a behavioral law of an artery.
