Vehicle e.g. car, speed determining process, involves calculating speed derivative from torque exercised on wheel, and integrating calculated speed using speed sensors speed as integration constant to obtain vehicle speed
The process involves determining a motor torque exercised on a wheel of a vehicle using a constraint gauge located on an axle transmitting the motor torque to the wheel. A speed derivative is calculated from the determined torque. The calculated speed is integrated using a known initial speed from a speed sensor as an integration constant, for obtaining speed of the vehicle.
