Breathing assistance device for treating sleep apnea, has speed sensor to acquire signal corresponding to rotation speed of rotating unit, and control unit with calculation unit connected to sensor to elaborate pressure setting
The device (20) has a turbine (200) to generate a flow of pressurized respiratory gas and a duct (231) to carry the pressurized gas to a patient. The turbine is associated to a speed sensor (250) capable of acquiring a signal corresponding to rotation speed of a rotating unit. A control unit has a calculation unit (230) connected to the sensor to elaborate a pressure setting and send the setting to the turbine. An Independent claim is also included for a method for regulating the pressure of a respiratory gas delivered by a turbine to a patient.
