Packetized data exchanging method, between WLAN and e.g. internet, involves coupling wireless access point of LAN with base station of existing mobile network
The method involves coupling one access point (AP1) from a wireless local area network (WLAN) to a base station (BTS) of a main radio telephone network (RP). The coupling of the access point allows exchange of data between the wireless local area network and an external data network (DN) via the main network. The access point is coupled to the base station through a wire connection, especially an Ethernet(RTM) connection, or a radio link, and the access point and base station are preferably co-sited. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a base station; and (b) a radio communication network coupled to a data network.
