The impedance of the suspect winding is measured over three ranges of frequency and comparison made with a healthy winding. Three correlation parameters are calculated for the respective gains and the relative variation of a fourth parameter associated with the physical characteristics of the transformer is also determined. Codes are assigned to the parameters and used by an electronic processing system to diagnose any winding fault
