The attached file exchange system between a transmitter (13) and receiver (12,15) in a digital word transmission system (10,11) has an attached file sent from a server (14). A substitution file provides origin file identification files for the transmitter, and is sent before the attachment file. At the receiver, the server file is presented with the substitution file before receiving the attachment file.
