The apparatus to separate electrically charged populations of analytes, using electrophoresis, has a migration unit with at least one solid wall (Pr1,Pr2) to define a migration chute with a given height (h) for the sample solution to travel in a direction (Dm) through a magnetic field. The required populations are held at separate zones by a continuous or intermittent field.
