Head-up image display for motor vehicle has triple reflection mirror system with first and third reflections produced by two parts of one mirror
The display is created by an image source (3) and an optical system (5) with mirrors (6, 7) producing three reflections - the first and third being produced by two parts (6a, 6b) of the same mirror (6) that are separated optically and have different characteristics. A non-reflective zone (B) separates the two parts of the mirror, and a mixer (M) is provided by the vehicle windscreen (8) to produce a virtual image (I) in the driver's field of vision.
