Method of mounting tire on wheel rim comprises bringing casing onto rim with safety support in casing inner space, placing first tire bead on side of first seat and sliding second bead into mounting groove
The tire (600) comprises first and second beads (620,610) to be mounted on first and second seats (13',13) of the wheel rim. The mounting method comprises bringing onto the rim the casing provided with a safety support in its inner space and placing the second bead on the side of the first seat. The second bead is then slid on the bearing surface so as to insert it into a mounting groove (12) and partly fixing the support on the bearing surface. The support is then slipped completely on the bearing surface. The first bead is then mounted on the first seat and the second bead is extracted from the groove to bring it axially outside a protuberance of the second seat and mounted on the second seat. Prior to extracting the second bead a extraction means (510) for the second bead are fixed at the groove base and the bead is guided axially outwards from the groove and the second seat by pivoting the extraction means about a pin (512) located radially inside the rim. An Independent claim is included for a tire mounting unit.
