摘要
The capillary pressure (Pc) curve is determined in terms of degree of saturation, by centrifuging initially-saturated fragments. A further Pc curve is determined parametrically. This satisfies empirical relationships dependent on adjustable parameters. These are constrained for asymptotic approach to the measured curve and conformity with the permeability value k measured from the drilling debris. Hence, the entire Pc curve is obtained. A set of parameters is selected, to permit calibration of the asymptotic part of the Pc curve at low saturation levels. The parameters are modified gradually, such that resultant estimates from an empirical relationship use, are adjusted for better fit with permeability measurements from the drilling debris over the asymptotic section. Debris permeability (k) is measured. This commences by measuring pressure variations in a vessel filled with fluid containing the debris, following connection over a defined interval with a reservoir of the same fluid under pressure. The volume effectively absorbed by the debris and the course of pressure or volume change in the vessel are measured. Iterative adjustment progressively improves the fit between modeled pressure evolution and measured results from the debris.
