The invention relates to a raisable landing gear for wide-body aircraft, of the type that are raised vertically, comprising a plurality of legs arranged one behind the other to form, in the undercarriage-down position, a row parallel to the median longitudinal plane of the aircraft, and at the end of each of which is mounted a pair of roues.conformément to the invention, each leg (101) comprises a tubular enclosure (102) is rigidly secured to a structure of the airplane, a balance (103) articulated on the lower end of this tubular strut, and a shock absorber (106) pivotally connecting an appendage (105) of the balance (103) to a device (110) mounted to slide axially inside the tubular enclosure (102), the sliding member (110) being connected to a manuevering jack (125) by a linkage associated (120, 123) mounted in the upper part of the tubular box so that said member is axially displaceable by the actuation of the operating ram (125) between two extreme positions, one of which corresponds to the undercarriage-down position and the other to the raised position.
