PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply necessary temp. distribution to a metal thin plate while preventing the generation of a ring-shaped damage by a recessed part by keeping the surface of a thermal transfer roll flat and changing the heat resistance in the roll to form a predetermined heat transfer pattern on the surface of the roll. ;SOLUTION: A sleeve 130 having a flat surface and having a thickness of about 0.3-1mm is fitted to a thermal transfer roll 1. The thermal transfer roll 1 is heated by the electromagnetic induction heating means incorporated therein or a heating means due to an oil heater. The parts 1a not corresponding to the recessed part 106 of the surface of the roll become high temp. because the heat conductivity thereof is good as compared with the parts 1b covering the recessed parts 106 and the parts 1b become low temp. because the air of the recessed parts becomes heat resistance. Therefore, heat conductive patterns are formed on the surface of the sleeve 130 by high and low temp. parts.
