Multi-functional control unit for vehicle driver informationsystem - guarantees selection of subordinate functions from largenumber of complex groups without double use of one or moreoperational keys
The vehicle's radio, on-board computer, telephone, navigational equipment and air-conditioning are all controlled from a unit whose display screen (1) presents traffic messages, ambient temp. and time of day, the transmitter to which the radio is tuned, and advice regarding the next navigational manoeuvre required of the driver. Individual function groups. (4) are selected by keys (3), and subordinate functions of each group. by a rotary switch (2). Frequently-used functions are activated by special keys (7).
