Solar energy concentrator for solar energy system has reflector made up of many plane facets approximating parabolic mirror, focusing sunlight on array of photovoltaic cells
Parallel rays of sunlight (11) fall on an array of small flat mirrors (5) which are set at different angles on segments (4) on a pivoted (2) support framework (3). The framework may stand on flat ground on a broad flat foot (1). Support rods (6) hold a small array of photovoltaic cells (8) at the focus of the concave reflector made up of the small flat mirror segments.
