The auxiliary drive consists of a drive unit (5) mounted on a bracket (6) fixed to the vehicle so as to be movable by means of a guide (20) and for application to the vehicle wheel (4). The drive unit has a motor (9) and a drive element (11). The auxiliary drive has an automatic application device (7) operated by the drive unit with a cam plate driven by the motor that interacts with a bolt joined to the bracket.
