The sandwich component has a core of especially corrugated cardboard between two outer surfaces of metal, plastic, wood, cardboard or composite materials. The corrugated cardboard has slots for tensile stress compensation. The slots are formed by a number of not-interconnected cuts extending perpendicularly through the lining material thickness and with short cut lengths in relation to the area extent of the lining component.
