Analyzing the condition of the uterine mucosa, useful for assessing endometrial receptivity or diagnosing uterine tumor, based on measuring expression of specific beta subunits of chorionic gonadotrophin
Method for determining defined conditions or alterations in the uterine mucosa, or in the epithelium of other organs, by: (i) isolating mRNA from a blood and/or tissue sample; and (ii) quantifying (over)expression of the mRNA for the beta7, beta6 and/or beta6e subunits of human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) 11 specific primer sequences, reproduced; (2) diagnostic kit for the new method; and (3) the beta6e variant of the beta6/beta7 gene, having an 861 bp sequence (7), reproduced, and/or encoding either of two 165 amino acid proteins (17, 18), reproduced.
