Pressstool jaw design for metal pipe closures uses blocking elements molded to jaw connecting strap or jaws to limit opening movement of jaw drive levers and jaw mouth appropriate to present component only.
The jaws (3) of the pressstool (1) are hinged to each other by a strap with fitted drive elements (17) to open the jaw mouth (14) appropriate to the component where a blocking element prevents the jaws opening to excess, i.e. beyond the component concerned. The blocking elements should be molded to the two jaws or again to their connecting strap and can be adjusted as required. The jaws have bearing eyelets (4,5) with coaxial openings engaging on assembly and endstops (15) on eyelet (5) limit the outward movement of the jaw.
