The method involves producing a difference of induction manifold pressure (PB) values and a difference (DeltaTHHAT) of choke opening (TH) values, producing a predicted difference of induction manifold pressure values (Delta FZPB) with an estimation algorithm with fuzzy estimation containing fuzzy rules based on the difference between induction manifold pressure values and choke opening values and adding the predicted value difference of the induction manifold pressure values to a predicted induction manifold pressure value. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a device for predicting an internal combustion engine's induction manifold pressure (b) and a method of producing a predicted value of a variable.
