Biological work-up of hydrocarbon- and carbon dioxide-containing gases comprises microbial fixing of the carbon dioxide and anaerobic degradation to biogas, which can be used in operation of a block heating and generating plant
Biological work-up of gases containing hydrocarbons (40-95 volume %) and carbon dioxide (2-60 volume %) involves (1) at least partially photosynthetically fixing the CO2 with microorganisms in a reactor; (2) anaerobically degrading the resulting biomass to a biogas; (3) at least partially photosynthetically fixing the CO2 in the biogas with microorganisms in a reactor; and (4) anaerobically degrading the resulting biomass to a biogas. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) apparatus for the process comprising a fermenter (1), a secondary fermenter (2) and a photobio-reactor (4) with a gas-liquid separator (5); and (2) operation of a block heating and generating plant comprising purifying a gas containing hydrocarbons (40-95 volume %) and carbon dioxide (2-60 volume %) using the above work-up process and then combusting the biogases obtained.
