The assembly to magnetize water, flowing in a pipe, has permanent magnets arranged with opposing polarities linked together by an elastic carrier strip (6) around the flow pipe (7). The magnets are contained within housings of an elastic plastics, within soft iron U-shaped shrouds (4). The gaps (a,b) between them can be equal to or different from twice to four times the widths of the permanent magnet units.
