Method of providing a measurement signal based on pulses of a sampled input signal such as to measure electromagnetic interference by forming groups of pulses and arranging them in given time intervals
The method involves determining the time intervals between the pulses of the sampled input signal. The pulses are allocated into different groups of pulses for which the time interval is the same. The groups are then arranged into a given time interval to generate the measurement signal. Preferably the method involves determining whether a received pulse has substantially the same characteristic as a stored pulse. If so, the received pulse is discarded and the number associated with the stored pulse is increased by one. This count thus corresponds to how often such a pulse occurs in the input signal. The allocation and arranging steps are then carried out based on this count value. Independent claims also cover an apparatus for carrying out the method.
