Method for zonal resolved determination of the order parameter of the collagen network of articular cartilage in a single MRT image by matching non-linear curves to the bone-cartilage and bone surface contours, by reading out of cartilage gray values for equidistant layers based on the matched curves and by matching the specular reflection angle behavior of the T2 dipole-dipole interactions parameter functions to the brightness values.
