Method for synthesis of a interference impulse or spike in a motor vehicle power network that is used to supply power to various vehicle components and to transfer data between them. The method has the following steps: empirical detection of at least a possible spike; description of each spike by one of three possible mathematical equations; determination of the shape of the envelope curve of the spike and; determination of a time dependent frequency vector of the spike. The invention also relates to a corresponding computer program and computer unit for synthesis of an interference impulse.
