Cosmetic and/or dermatological emulsions contain by wt. (a) zinc oxide particles (0.5-20%); (b) UV filters which are liquid at 20degreesC (0.5- 20%); and optionally also (c) further cosmetic and/or dermatological ingredients. An Independent claim is also included for production of the emulsions by (1) heating the oil phase with the liquid UV filter to 80degreesC; (2) dispersing the zinc oxide-containing pigment phase in the clear, heated oil phase; and (3) adding the aqueous phase heated to 75degreesC and cooling the mixture
