Measurement device for determining the heat transfer capacity of a material contained within a measurement volume (2) comprises a first temperature measurement device (15, 17) for measuring a temperature difference across the measurement volume and a second temperature measurement device (14, 15) for measuring the temperature difference along a heat transfer path (11) and so for measuring the heat flow between heat poles (3, 4, 7, 8) that are arranged adjacent to the measurement volume to create a heat flow. An Independent claim is made for a method for measuring the heat transfer capacity of a sample.
